Killeeneen Back To School Run

Last night Killeeneen N.S hosted a road race for people all over the contry.
We held a 1km run,a 2.5km walk and 5km run.The 1km race was held first the 5km and the
2.5 went after at the same time. The 5km and the 2.5km  were a great sucsess with over 200 people participating.  The 1km enteries were mostely for the younger runners,the 2.5km was for the mums or dads who wanted to walk with their children. The 5km entries were mostley eleite runners, but if you put yourself to the challenge you could enter too.  

After every race you got a lovley  gold meadel with killeeneen in the centre. There were also goddies for the kids when they fineshed their race such as popcorn, chocolate bars and tasty lollypops. The cause of this wonderful race is for killeneen school. We are trying to build an extenchion onto our amazing school. Throughout the last couple of  weeks killeeneen children have been raising sponsorship and giving it in for our exellent road race. When everybody was finished their events we all went into the G.P room for yummy cakes and sandwiches that the mums and dads had made. 

There are also prizes to be won for the race such as the family event  to win it there has to be a child entering in the1km race and an aduld entering in the 5km race. The next prize can be won if you are first man or woman home in 5km run. There are also more prizes to be won but this time they can be won by luck because in asembley your name could be pulled out of a box next week. All  the results are to be announced next week.  Kileeneen had a great night at the road race and thanks to all for coming!!!
